Pangea Puts One Memecoin on 5 Chains. Is This the Pump.fun Challenger?

A 5 day old launchpad deploys every coin on Ethereum, Base, BSC, Solana and Robinhood Chain at the same price. We dug into the docs, the launch, and the numbers.

On Sunday I posted that you can now launch one memecoin with instant liquidity on 5 blockchains, and that Pangea might be the first thing that could actually overtake Pump.fun. I promised you a proper write-up, so here it is, good and bad.

Pangea (pangea.trade, @LaunchOnPangea) went live on Oct 21. The pitch is simple: every coin launched there goes live on 5 chains in the same moment, at the same opening price. No more watching your Solana runner get copied on Base and BSC an hour later.

Quick heads up: an older copy of the docs lives at pangeaerc.pro, so stick to the link in @LaunchOnPangea's bio.

How a launch works

Here's the flow, per Pangea's docs:

  1. Pick your chains. All 5, or any 2 to 5 with at least 1 EVM chain.
  2. Set it up. Name, ticker, art, an opening market cap of $3,000 to $500,000 per chain, and a trading fee.
  3. Add extras if you want. A dev buy, and Degen Mode: 1B total instead of 1B per chain. The team says that's 5 to 12 times more volatile and literally says "use carefully."
  4. Pay once on 1 chain. The docs say a launch typically costs about $8 to $10.
  5. Go live. Each chain gets its own contract ending in "6ea" and a locked pool holding 1B tokens. No bonding curve, no team allocation. LayerZero bridges the chains, and arbitrage keeps prices in line.
  6. Get paid. The creator earns most of every trading fee, and Pangea says 80% of its own cut buys back PANGEA.

Fees, hooks and why every chain can be different

On the 4 EVM chains, coins trade in Uniswap v4 pools with the pool fee set to 0, and Pangea's own PangeaFeeHook charges the trading fee on every swap. I checked PANGEA's official pools on all 4, and they use the same hook, 0x15e5...a8cc, at a 1% fee. It's verified on Etherscan and Basescan, and Sourcify matches it on all 4 chains. Solana has no hook. There the 1% fee sits in the Meteora DAMM v2 pool and Meteora keeps 20%, just like the docs say, so creators earn 0.6% of volume there against 0.8% on Base.

One thing doesn't line up. The docs call Standard "A plain pool" with "No hooks," and say sell fees get converted later, which "keeps extra code off the trading path." The hook does the opposite, taking every fee in ETH or BNB mid-swap, and the docs' own launch kit section names "the factory's fee hook." So the launch form has it right: creators can't add their own hooks yet ("Hooks" is greyed out under "Trade-offs"), but every Standard pool already runs Pangea's.

You can set the fee anywhere from 0.3% to 5%, "Fixed at launch," and the platform keeps a fifth, at least 0.2% of volume. The form's "You keep 0.8%" at 1% is the EVM figure. You can also set "A different fee on each chain" and per-chain burn and buyback splits. So same ticker, same price, but the fee and depth can change with the chain you buy on.

Pangea walks devs through bundling

This surprised me most. Pangea doesn't just allow bundled launches, it hands devs the tools and the instructions. From the docs, under "Launch-time buys":

"Pangea sends nobody's buys. The launch kit gives you what you need to make your own, from your own wallets, and leaves the sending to you."

The kit is Pangea's own API call, POST /v1/launch/kit. Send it up to 20 buys and it returns ready-made transactions for your own wallets, EVM only. Then the docs go chain by chain:

  • Ethereum and BSC: through a private relay (Flashbots, 48 Club or bloXroute) for one target block, "your launch first."
  • Base and Robinhood Chain: "There is no public private relay," and "Others can buy in the same block."
  • Solana: a Jito-bundled launch isn't available yet.

Plus the optional dev buy, which the hook charges no trading fee. The docs even list the bundler's risks: front-running without a relay, buys reverting before the pool opens, and a price snapshot that normally expires in 15 minutes.

Pump.fun's own docs stop at the creator's first buy. Its public program docs show a create and buy instruction so "the creator can seed the curve in a single transaction," and its official create-coin skill adds optional Jito "front-runner protection" for that one transaction. I couldn't find anything on multi-wallet launch buys, and its Terms of Use list "linked-wallet activity" as a reason it may restrict access. So Pump.fun documents the dev buy, and Pangea documents the whole bundle.

What traders get in return is visibility. Every launch block buy, "yours or anyone's," shows on the token page under "Bought in the launch block," tagged "In the launch tx" when inside the launch (not on Solana). PANGEA's page shows "40 wallets bought in the launch block" on Ethereum, 7.50M each. ZGAP's says "Nobody bought in the launch block." My spot check of 12 creator launches found no bundles, just likely snipers on Base.

The bull case

  1. It goes after real PvP. A coin on every chain leaves no empty chain to vamp.
  2. Creators are getting paid. Pangea says it has paid out over $570,000 as of Monday afternoon.
  3. Buybacks are live. The team says 1.7% of PANGEA supply, roughly $170K, was burned by Sunday.
  4. Big names are curious. My friend Stitch, a trader with about 31K followers, still calls himself bullish, and a thesis credited to Bonk Guy (@theunipcs) calls it an interesting PvP fix "if the tech works as intended."

And no, CZ's "Multiple chains, one coins" post was about BNB Chain's new L1, not Pangea.

The red flags

The PANGEA token itself launched bundled. Trader Dash says the launch transaction bought 7.5M tokens into each of 40 fresh wallets on each EVM chain, 24% of supply, funded through the platform's admin key. Others put it closer to 29.8%. The dev, @0xflatearth, replied that it "was bundled to 7k marketcap (yes, literally)" and called it "not an outrageous amount to buy at launch."

After the backlash the team moved supply into locks, which Bio Stone credited. The docs now say the team holds about 19%: 14.4% vesting over 24 months plus a 4.18% marketing treasury. Dash's Monday update confirms the locks are real, but about 5.6% of supply from the launch still sits in about 30 unnamed wallets. The dev's own breakdown said:

"4% is left for rebalancing, market making, and deals you dont need to know about." 0xFlatearth, Pangea dev

The Solana side has an upgrade key. A holder flagged it and I confirmed it Monday: one plain wallet (848jB...yNgL), not a multisig, can upgrade the program behind PANGEA's Solana mint (SNyKy...3Zzf).

The operator has levers. Only the platform can redirect creator fees, and the dev wrote that Pangea "partnered with a private company to bring arbitrage, peg and volume" to every token.

What's it actually worth?

As of 3:30 PM ET Monday, PANGEA was trading around $0.0021 on all 5 chains. Most charts show about $3M to $3.6M in market cap. That's the circulating number for that one chain, because each chain only reports its own slice of supply. Add all 5 chains together and the full picture is roughly $10.4M, based on Pangea's 5B launch supply minus about 82.6M burned. CoinGecko says about $15M because it counts around 7.5B supply, which doesn't match the docs.

Liquidity is healthy. Pangea's 5 official pools hold about $763K combined, roughly $150K to $156K on every chain, per Pangea's own pool data. Count the extra pools, like the USDG pairs on Robinhood Chain and a second Solana pool, and it's closer to $1.17M. That's about 7% to 11% of the full market cap, spread evenly across chains.

When I posted Sunday I said $15M, so know which number you're looking at before you size in.

The ecosystem so far

Stitch nailed the real test: Pangea "needs to produce real runners beyond $PANGEA itself." One trader's Monday list had ZGAP at about $560K combined market cap, with PVE and ONECOIN near $345K each. Some critics, like this one, argue 5 pools split the liquidity.

Key takeaways

The idea is genuinely good and this dev ships fast, but it's still a 5 day old experiment. If you're buying, official PANGEA addresses end in "6ea" and are listed in the docs.

The risks

  • One wallet can upgrade PANGEA's Solana program.
  • About 19% team supply per the docs, plus about 5.6% in unnamed launch wallets per Dash.
  • An unnamed market maker drives part of the volume.
  • No public audit is listed.
  • AI deploys, agentic trading and stock pairs are still promises.

So could it challenge Pump.fun? Maybe. But Pump.fun didn't win on tech. It won because people kept choosing to use it, and traders and devs made money on it while devs had little risk. Can Pangea create better opportunities with its multichain deployments?
